A bug out bag is a simply packed family emergency preparedness kit that is packed with emergency survival supplies that can last you around 3 to 5 days. Water- at least one gallon per person per day (if you are using dehydrated food add an extra half gallon per person)
Food- make it simple peanut butter, crackers, nuts, granola bars ect…
Radio- Important for keeping upto date with current events and emergency information.
Extra Batteries- For keeping the radio and other gadgets running.
Extra Meds- Hospitals and Doctor offices may be out of reach for days.
Cash/Documents- Carry at least a $100.00 cash and make about $20.00 of it quarters. be sure to keep birth certificates, bank accounts and other important information.
